JD.com says humanoid robot sales are up 700% in its 11.11 shopping festival

In China’s biggest shopping festival, humanoid robots now show up as a category of their own.

Sales of smart humanoid robots on JD.com, one of China’s largest online retailers, are up 700% year on year during its 11.11 shopping festival, according to company figures reported by the Beijing News on October 30 1. The data run to 6 p.m. on October 30. The figure counts units sold; JD did not say how many robots that is 1.

In the same report, JD said transaction value for other “trend” robot categories, such as robotic arms and dexterous robot hands, grew more than tenfold 1. The headline numbers were broader: 150 million service orders and more than 20 million AI products sold 1.

What it means for a family. A 700% jump from an unknown base says more about direction than size: humanoid robots are now a shelf in a mass-market sale, not only a trade-show demo. The Tireless Parent follows what a household humanoid already costs and why the price is falling so fast; our Home Humanoid Registry tracks which ones have actually reached buyers.
